Qualifications
Governor appoints: 2 residents of major tobacco-producing counties with experience in local agricultural economic development or community development; 3 active farmers from major tobacco-producing counties, 2 of whom must be appointed from a list of at least 4 individuals recommended by the Ohio Farm Bureau, and 1 of whom must be appointed from a list of at least 2 individuals recommended by the Farmers' Union; and 3 active tobacco farmers from major tobacco-producing counties appointed from a list of at least 6 individuals recommended by the Ohio Tobacco Growers Association. The Directors of Agriculture and of Development, or their designees, the Executive Director of the Ohio Rural Development Partnership, and the Director of the Ohio State University Extension or the Director's designee are ex officio members. House Speaker appoints 2 nonvoting House members of different political parties, and Senate President appoints 2 nonvoting Senate members of different political parties.
